State police: Penncrest student arrested with THC pen, $17k in Grande Baroque silverware gone

Feb. 1, 9 a.m.: Troopers responded to Penncrest High School for a 15-year-old male caught with a suspected THC pen. Upon further investigation the juvenile was arrested, taken to the Media station, processed and released to a responsible party.

Dec. 13, 11:37 a.m.: A 60-year-old woman from Tucson, Arizona, arrived at the Media station to report a theft at a house along Wilmington Pike in Chadds Ford Township. Upon interviewing the victim, it was learned that about $21,000 in household items were missing. Multiple moving companies were involved in transportation of the items from July 1, 2021, to Dec. 13, 2022. Among the items stolen were $17,000 in grande baroque silverware and various barware. Also taken were spoons, flatware, golf art, lamps, paper towel holder, floor lamp, tools and an Elvis picture valued at $500.

Dec. 24, 1:48 a.m.: While conducting a security check of Wawa at Granite Run it was discovered that a parked 1997 Ford pickup truck had an operator who was actively wanted. He was arrested and a subsequent search yielded a rifle, a loaded rifle and a small amount of crystal methamphetamine. The 36-year-old Collingdale man is a convicted felon and not allowed to possess a firearm.

Jan. 8, 1:13 a.m.: Troopers conducted a traffic stop on I-95 south mile marker 9.3. The operator, a 39-year-old Chesterbrook man was found to be under the influence and arrested.

Jan. 8, 1:18 a.m.: Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Wilmington Pike just north of Oakland Road in Chadds Ford Township on a white 2002 Ford pickup bearing temporary California plates. Upon further investigation, the operator was arrested for DUI and passenger for drug possession. Arrested were Sheravan Coston, 44, and Keith Boone, 42, both of Brooklyn, New York. They were processed and released following arrest.

Jan. 13, 4:28 p.m.: A 59-year-old from Sarum Drive in Concord found a credit card was fraudulently opened in his name.

Jan. 20, 3:46 a.m.: Troopers came upon an unoccupied disabled vehicle at Exit 4 on Interstate 95 south in Chester. The 2014 Jeep was reported as stolen by Oxford police, and towed from the scene.

Jan. 21, 2:03 a.m.: Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash of a 2017 Chevrolet Trax at Kirk rand Shavertown roads in Concord Township. Upon arrival the vehicle was unoccupied. The operator, a 24-year-old man, was identified and located at his residence. He was determined to be driving under the influence and nd placed under arrest.

Jan. 25, 2:48 a.m.: Troopers were dispatched to 600 Evergreen Drive in Concord Township for a welfare check of a woman operating a white BMW. Approaching the area, troopers observed a BMW traveling without its taillights. A traffic stop was conducted and it was determined the operator, a 34-year-old Glen Mills woman, was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Jan. 26, 11:25 a.m.: Troopers arrested Antwane Wilkerson, 49, and Shannon Henderson, 36, both of Wilmington, Delaware, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI for the operator in a parking lot in the 500 block of West Ridge Road in Lower Chichester Township.  A 2013 Chevrolet Malibu was towed.

Feb. 2, 9:58 a.m.: Trooper was dispatched to Wilmington Pike for a report of a found firearms inside a safety box. The weapons were taken into custody and contact made with owner.

Feb. 2, 1:02 a.m.: Troopers initiated a traffic stop of a 2015 Hyundai Sonata at Ring Road and Baltimore Pike. Through investigative means it was determined the 22-year-old male driver from Rising Sun, Maryland was intoxicated.

Feb. 3, 12:43 a.m.: Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2017 Nissan Altima on Interstate 95 South at mile marker 9.7 in Tinicum Township. The operator, a 35-year-old Philadelphia man, was found under the influence of a controlled substance and taken into  custody. The operator denied consent to search the vehicle, but a warrant was secured and a search was conducted. Inside were 33 grams of a white powder, 23 multi-color pills, bulk packaging and two scales. Charges are pending.

Feb. 5, 4:33 a.m.: Troopers responded to an accident on Route 322 westbound in Chester Township. The crash occurred when the driver of a 2017 Ford Fusion swerved to avoid a deer, and the car hit a pothole, which caused operator to lose control and hit a guide rail head on. There were no injuries. The 21-year-old operator from Bound Brook, New Jersey, was issued a citation for driving at an unsafe speed

Feb 6, 1:06 a.m.:  Troopers conducted a traffic stop at Route 322 East south of Interstate 95 in Chester Township on a purple Dodge Challenger for vehicle code violations. Upon further investigation, the operator, a 22-year-old Collingdale woman was placed under arrest for DUI and drug possession.

Feb. 6, 2:13 a.m.: Troopers responded to the Wawa on Naamens Creek Road for a reported retail theft. Three males entered store and stole $80 of merchandise before fleeing in a dark colored sedan.
